News and Hues

October is here and there is color on the trees as well as the canvas!

What We Did Last Month:

A LOT!

Sophia created art at the Coca-Cola Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. This event was put together with our partners and friends at Synergieswork. Several differently-abled artists worked together to make a collaborative art project for auction, with a reception that evening with Coca-Cola employees. And we got to see a little of Atlanta, too!

Sophia and her parents were interviewed on B101.5 and talked about Sophia’s journey during the Care-A-Thon radiothon benefiting Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Sophia’s art was chosen to feature on the tee shirts for the event and she even signed a few as special gifts for people who donated!

And, in between, we were BUSY! Art in the park in Fredericksburg. The farmer’s market in Irvington. A spot on Caroline Street with, literately, hundreds of other local artists at Art Attack! And, in between, even concerts and cheerleading!

Coming up in October!

October looks to be much calmer than September.  But, don’t worry, we will still be around - come out and see us!

Sophia will be at the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia’s Buddywalk event.  Doors open at 10am and the walk begins at 11:00am.  Sophia’s art will be on the DSANV’s Buddywalk T-Shirt this year!
